Jenny is a household name in the local radio industry. Just ask anyone who has listened to radio for the past 20 years or so – because that’s how long she’s been in it.

Even after all those years, time doesn’t wear her down. Jenny remains a glowing personality with a voice that is unmistakably hers. You could almost argue that it was radio that chose her instead of the other way around.

“Radio just kind of happened to me,” she says. She was 17 years old when she made a quick announcement and a staff member from the national radio station heard it. A job offer came and the rest, as they say, is history.

Jenny has also seen the changes of radio. Her first radio gig was in a cubbyhole stuffed with vinyls, CDs, magnetic discs, sound reels and cartridges.  In those days, running a radio show is a literal show itself.

“You’d be running around lining up record needles, rewinding reels and pushing sound carts,” she says.

In the early days, Jenny remembers looking up to Yasmin Yussof, the Malaysian radio personality, singer and actress, as her inspiration.

“I remember telling myself that I wanted to be as good as her,” she says.

When she’s not on radio, Jenny can be seen enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Like driving what she calls, a highly useless mid-life crisis car. Or having Indomie with a fried egg.
